What has B&P done to my husband?

When last I saw my husband, he'd left to see Bread & Puppets (and in a reasonably sane frame of mind, I might add).  I'd just finished putting Alex to bed, start coming downstairs and hear lots of rummaging sounds in the kitchen.  Turns out, Brian is ransacking the place looking for loot to give to the performers.  The B&P people are classic, poor, traveling artists who live off of what donations they take from the audience, both ticket & otherwise.  They will barter art & stuff for various items that they need.  In particular, Brian was casting around for his old stainless steel travel coffee mug which he never uses, and as much local food as I would give up.  I sent him off with:
  1. travel mug
  2. local CSA zucchini bread (frozen)
  3. 4 ears CSA corn (frozen)
  4. ~1 cup persimmon pulp (local, frozen)
  5. probably 3 lbs. tomatoes & basil from our garden last year (frozen)
  6. 1 pint jar homemade pickles from our garden
  7. 6 local eggs
  8. 4 boiled eggs (also local)
Pretty decent haul, eh?  And this is before the growing season even hits--if they come back in, like, August, I'll be more prepared!

But it seems that the B&P show really had an effect on him.  I know when he gets home I'll get an earfull (which I'm looking forward to).  He really gets into gen-u-ine artists & performers, though.  Really, it's kinda cute.

And everyone swoon over my new gardening icon (which is only barely appropriate for this post, but hey!  it's new!).
